Hello everyone!
This August, five Indian engineers joined the development department of GMO Research & AI.
They all graduated from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), one of India’s leading science universities.!
In this article, we would like to report on their induction ceremony held at our Indian branch office!
Welcome Message
In a relaxed atmosphere, the meeting began with a welcome speech by CTO Ando.
“Thank you all for joining us.
Today you will start as junior engineers in our India office, and I hope that we can work together in Tokyo in the near future. As you know, our company’s headquarters is in Tokyo and the experience will be good for all of you.
So I have two requests for you.
(1) To quickly grow to a senior level
(2) Improve your Japanese language skills.
Achieving these goals is a small request in order to achieve good results as a web engineer in our company. I look forward to seeing you all come to the next level as soon as possible. Once again, thank you for joining our company.”
Next to CTO Ando, General Manager of Development Division and India Office Director gave speeches.
“GMO Research & AI has associates in many countries, not only in India. We are global, so if you have any questions, you can always ask our members in Japan and abroad.
I look forward to seeing you all grow quickly and to working with you.”
“I am very pleased to welcome all of you young and talented people. I am sure I can teach you many things about business, including how to grow and work based on my experience. Feel free to reach out if you need anything.”
In addition, senior engineers who graduated from IIT and are already active in our company, as well as other colleagues from the India branch, also expressed their words of welcome.
All of the existing members were looking forward to welcoming the five new graduates to the company, and smiles were abundant as they greeted the newcomers. The five new graduates listened intently to the welcoming speech, and their serious eyes were very impressive.
New Graduate Self-Introductions
Next, the new graduate members introduced themselves.

Based on the slides they had prepared in advance, as shown in the photo above, each of them talked about their hobbies, favorite foods, what they have learned so far, and their future prospects. Some of the members greeted the audience in Japanese, and each time they did so, the audience expressed their admiration, which was very peaceful.
‘I want to do my best as a member of the company.’
‘I want to develop my skills and contribute to the project.’
‘I want to grow myself together with you all.’
‘I look forward to learning new technologies and working with you all.’

Their comments conveyed their enthusiasm and desire to grow.
